Wigg & Co - EU mediation changes
Call us on 01892 529518. Experience counts.
An EU Green Paper was
published earlier this year calling for common standards for all of
Europe's mediators.
Should Britain allow the European Union to set standards for our
mediators?
Is it possible that if British mediators flout minimum EU standards they
could be sued by aggrieved parties or clients who think they have a
cause of action against them.
Would it mean that mediators will have to take out bigger insurance
policies.
If the U.K. adopt EU common standards will U.K. mediators run the risk
of being criminalised for flouting regulations even though we regard
mediation as consensual and voluntary?
